The Twitter World

Internet for Educators:

Learning about Twitter.....

Here are some thought to consider which I learnt today to be successful in the Twitter World:

1. Do not be an egg, no one will want to be your friend if your an egg.

2. Follow those who are interesting and funny.... sooo if you want to be followed stop telling people about dull moments of your life.

3. Have open settings, but make sure you are representing yourself in a healthy manner.

4. You are a tweeter on twitter and when you post a message it is called a tweet. You can retweet which is reposting another message. This place has its own bird language.

This link explains twitter with pictures of the blue bird.

Thought to debate .... Which is better Twitter or Facebook or Instagram.

My vote is for Instagram. Everything I post on Insta can also be put on several different social sites at the same time. Then would be Twitter, in the short time I have been on the APP I have found many entertaining and interesting posts without searching.

  1. Hey, Jaynell. I really enjoyed reading this post, as it is broken down well (organization-wise) so it is easy to read, and it is humorous - which I think is a really important characteristic for any readable social networking tool (blogs, snapchat, twitter - as you mentioned - to have). I also like that you included an interesting place to find out more information about Twitter.

As for the debate in question, I have actually never tried Instagram... I really hate selfies, and I am afraid that if I join Instagram, I will be relentlessly exposed to selfies. I would love to read a second post from you detailing why Instagram is worth my time, and how, exactly, to use it! I feel like I am being shallow in my reasoning as to why I have never tried it.

Because I have never tried Instagram, my vote would likely be cast for Twitter, since it is quick, often funny, and to-the-point. Facebook is too consumed by stupid gaming updates that nobody cares about.

  2. Well Brit I like Insta because its like twitter just with pictures. I am no Instagram guru but that I can see what my family and friends are up to back home instead of just reading posts. It somehow makes me feel more connected to them. I do agree with the selfies though. I am not a huge selfie fan but every once and a while I do post one. Twitter is vey much connected to Instagram, everything that I post on insta can be shared with Twitter which is very convenient.

  3. I have lost my phone 100 times and have a scattered brain when it comes to material things. Now contrary to what people would assume, yes I lose thingsoften, but my life ptotherwise is pretty organised and structured. Lists are made, efficency is ke. With efficiency in mind, would be great to learn how to make my tech life more efficient. thanks jay!
